Befitting their name, the Danner Mountain 600 Evo (currently on sale for $187.50) is the latest evolution of a classic boot that has been in the Danner line for years and is well worth the premium cost. The Evo takes the classic profile of Danners that have been in their line since the 60s and incorporates modern technology to make them a fantastic value.

Waterproofing
The Mountain 600 Evo incorporates GORE-TEX liners that are both 100% waterproof and breathable, ensuring that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out of the boot to keep your feet dry and happy.

Over 50 miles of hiking in all conditions, our tester reported that his feet never got wet, even when submerged above the laces.
Footbeds
The footbed of the Mountain 600 Evo is made from OrthoLite Eco open-cell polyurethane that provides rebound and cushioning paired with a TPU shank that distributes weight evenly underfoot and provides stability over rugged terrain.
Our tester praised the comfort over mud, sand, rock, dirt, grass & more.
Outsoles
The Vibram® Fuga Traction Outsole With its self-adapting lugs and specially formulated Megagrip compound has two big things going for it: not only does it provide incredible grip on both wet and dry surfaces, but if you do ever manage to wear them down, the boots can be sent back to Danner to be resoled.

Our tester had strong praise for the traction of the boots, saying that he has never been more sure of his footing when on loose or wet terrain. He compared the overall grip of the outsole to a well-broken in climbing shoe.
Recycled Materials
In addition to the recycled materials found in the liner and footbed, the Mountain 600 Evo also features a collar and liner made from 100% recycled textiles.
